We look forward to meeting you on your first visit and letting you get to know us. Your first orthodontic appointment will consist of an examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. X-rays will be made of your teeth and jaws so that our orthodontist can evaluate these while examining your teeth, occlusion, facial profile and jaw structures. This information provides our orthodontist with a complete understanding of your case and the necessary information to develop a treatment plan. There is no charge for this initial consultation. At the end of the exam, the orthodontist will
- Advise whether or not orthodontic treatment is recommended
- Determine when orthodontic treatment should begin
- Present the possible orthodontic treatment options available
- Formulate a definitive treatment plan achieve as close as possible your goals and expectations.
After the consultation appointment, our treatment coordinator will show you the different types of braces and aligners. She will also present our payment options.
If you decides to get started, orthodontic records can be taken the same day. The records consist of impressions for diagnostic models of your teeth and photographs of your face and teeth. Once the records have been made, you will be given an appointment to have the braces placed. It’s that simple!
The initial exam usually takes about an hour. Part of this time is spent filling out patient information forms. In order to save you time, please complete the patient information forms which are available on this web site or in the information packet sent to you. By completing these forms before you come in, we can start your first visit without delay.
If you have orthodontic insurance, you need to contact your provider before the first visit to know how much your policy pays. The questions you need to ask your provider are:
- Do I have orthodontic coverage?
- What are the benefits of my orthodontic coverage?
- Is my orthodontist a provider for this insurance? If not, will it cost more to use a non-provider orthodontist?
- Does the insurance company pay automatically?
